Artificial intelligence that
Latin America wants to govern
AINI is the Artificial Intelligence Institute for Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a private, non-profit civil association established to pursue educational, scientific and technological purposes. It seeks to create and promote an ethical and responsible artificial intelligence ecosystem by co-creating research, development and innovation across the region.
Join usOur purpose
We believe artificial intelligence will redefine Latin America's economy. AINI exists so that this transformation is led by people and institutions from the region, on their own terms and with the risks under control.
We build capacity, not dependence
We train decision-makers and builders so that the region develops its own solutions instead of importing closed, off-the-shelf ones.
Governance is a discipline
We treat AI governance as technical, verifiable work: frameworks, evidence and controls that can be audited, not statements of principle.
Interdisciplinary by design
We are professionals from the public sector, the private sector, academia and civil society working on the same problem.
One piece of a larger puzzle
No institute solves this alone. We collaborate with regulators, universities, companies and multilateral organizations inside and outside the region.
The team
We are researchers, computer scientists and product engineers with experience in the region's main strategic sectors, working together to make AI adoption in Latin America useful and safe.

Research
We study the real state of AI adoption in the region and publish evidence on what works, what fails and what we still don't know.

Policy
We translate what happens at the technical frontier into language that regulators and legislators can use, and we help develop regional regulatory frameworks.

Products
We design and build agent systems in real production environments, so that our recommendations are backed by implementation experience.

Operations
We keep the institute running: partnerships, programs, finances and the community that makes all of the above possible.
How we create value and how we work
We operate on five fronts. Each one addresses a different part of the same goal: for the region to adopt artificial intelligence with homegrown capabilities, its own judgment and managed risks.
Academy
We train founders, executives and technical teams to build and operate their own AI solutions on their organization's real processes.
Consulting
We support companies and institutions in the design, implementation and governance of agent systems in production environments.
Venture Capital
We invest in and support ventures from the region that build on the artificial intelligence value chain at their core.
Institute
We produce research, governance frameworks and institutional positions, and we represent the region in the spaces where the rules are set.
Events
We bring the region together at gatherings where artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, technology infrastructure and innovation meet, and where decisions are discussed among peers.
Governance
AINI is a non-profit civil association. Its Constitution is public and available at ainilac.com/constitucion. Governance is not an appendix to our work: it is the standard by which we evaluate every artificial intelligence agent we build, recommend or certify. Every agent that carries the Institute's seal is held to that standard.
Board of Directors
Leads the institute and is accountable for its mission.
Dennis Vivas, president · Emilio Navarro, vice president · Roberto Vargas, secretary general · Angel Espinoza, treasurer · Miranda Rojas, board member

LTBT Trustees
Safeguard the region's long-term benefit above any particular interest of the institute.
