Terms and conditions

These terms govern applying to and taking part in AINI Academy. By applying, you declare that you have read and accept them.

1. Who we are

AINI — Instituto de Inteligencia Artificial para América Latina y el Caribe (“AINI”) is the provider of the AINI Academy training program, offered through the website ainilac.com.

AINI has delegated to eCash, with RUC (Peruvian tax ID) 20601795311 and registered tax address at Los Geraneos 166, distrito de Lince, provincia y departamento de Lima, Perú, the invoicing of the revenue from the sale of this service. Accordingly, eCash issues the payment receipts—a sales receipt (boleta de venta) or an invoice (factura)—while AINI remains responsible for the content and delivery of the program.

Payments are processed by Mercado Pago, the platform through which cards, digital wallets and the other enabled payment methods are charged, and through which refunds are also processed. AINI never stores your card details.

For any question, complaint or communication related to these terms, you can write to us at info@ainilac.com.

2. What AINI Academy is

AINI Academy is a 8-week online training program with 16 live one-hour sessions, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8–9 p.m. Peru time (GMT-5). The first cohort starts on Tuesday, October 20.

Applications and payment are individual. Within the program, during the first week of the bootcamp, participants form work teams of at least three members, each working on a project of its own. Before the first session, participants receive asynchronous pre-work covering the fundamentals.

Live sessions are recorded and made available to admitted participants while the cohort is under way.

3. Admission

Participation is not open access: it requires applying and being admitted. Applications are individual. AINI selects 30 people for the first cohort, with the application deadline published on the website. The program's work teams are formed within the bootcamp, not at the application stage.

After submitting the application, the applicant can schedule an admission interview by video call, lasting approximately 45 minutes, at a time of their choosing among those available.

The interview takes place before any payment has been made. Only if AINI admits the person after the interview is the enrollment link emailed to them, with the amount and the applicable conditions, so that they can complete the payment.

AINI reserves the right to decide on admission. Neither the application nor scheduling or holding the interview gives rise, by itself, to a right to enroll or to admitted status: admission is decided after the interview. Anyone who is not admitted does not receive the payment link and is not charged anything.

4. Billing options and investment

Applications are always individual. The program is offered under two billing options: billed to the participant personally, or invoiced to their company or organization.

The amount of the investment, the enabled payment methods and the conditions applicable to each option are shown in full on the enrollment page, before any payment is confirmed. No payment is required to apply, to schedule or hold the admission interview, or to attend the free open classes: the payment link is emailed only to those admitted after the interview.

Payment is made through Mercado Pago, which offers credit or debit card, digital wallets and other methods. Credit card payments can be made in installments; any interest this generates is applied by the card's issuing bank and is unrelated to AINI.

Payment receipts—a sales receipt (boleta de venta) or an invoice (factura)—are issued by eCash (RUC 20601795311), to which AINI has delegated invoicing. Within five (5) business days following payment, the receipt is sent to the email address you provide.

Under the company invoicing option, the receipt is issued in the name of the organization that pays, with the details it provides.

5. Refund guarantee

If you were admitted and, after the first week of the program, you feel it is not for you, you can request a full refund of the amount paid by writing to info@ainilac.com. The refund is 100% of the amount paid and requires no justification. The request must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days following the cohort's first live session.

The refund is processed through Mercado Pago and paid back through the same payment method used, unless the parties agree otherwise; eCash issues the corresponding credit note. How long it takes for the money to be reflected depends on the payment method and the issuing bank.

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not replace, the right of withdrawal or the other rights that the Consumer Protection and Defense Code grants to consumers.

6. Participant commitments

Once admitted, the participant undertakes to provide truthful information during the application, to keep their access credentials personal and non-transferable, and not to share, reproduce or redistribute the program materials outside their work team.

The program's recordings, materials and communication spaces are for the exclusive use of the people admitted to the cohort.

7. Intellectual property

The program content—materials, recordings, presentations, templates, sample code and documentation—is owned by AINI or by those who have licensed its use to AINI, and is protected by Peruvian copyright law.

Admission grants a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use that content, limited to learning purposes. No ownership of any intellectual property right is transferred.

The project each team builds during the program, together with the code and materials it produces, belongs exclusively to that team. AINI claims no rights over them.

8. Certificates

Those who take part in the sessions receive an AINI certificate of participation. Those who also submit and pass the program's two deliverables receive an AINI certificate of achievement.

The certificates attest to participation in, or passing of, the AINI program, and do not constitute an academic degree or title recognized by the Peruvian education system.

9. Changes to the program

AINI may adjust the schedule, the specific content of a session or the person who facilitates it, provided that the total duration, the objectives and the committed scope are preserved. Any relevant change is communicated to admitted participants as far in advance as possible.

If AINI cancels the cohort before it starts, it refunds 100% of the amount paid to everyone enrolled.

10. Limitation of liability

AINI undertakes to deliver the program with professional diligence and on the terms offered. It does not guarantee economic, commercial or employment results from taking part, which depend on factors beyond its control.

AINI is not responsible for interruptions caused by connectivity failures, by failures of third-party services used during the program, or by force majeure. In such cases, the affected sessions are rescheduled or made available as recordings.

Nothing in this clause limits AINI's liability in the cases in which Peruvian law does not allow such a limitation.

11. Personal data

The processing of the personal data collected in the application and during the program is governed by our Privacy policy, prepared in accordance with Law No. 29733, the Personal Data Protection Law, and its regulations.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru.

Any dispute is submitted to the judges and courts of the judicial district of Lima, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring a claim before the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) under the Consumer Protection and Defense Code.

13. Changes to these terms

AINI may update these terms to reflect legal or tax changes, or changes in the way it provides the service. The version in force is always the one published on this page, identified by its last-updated date.

Changes do not apply retroactively. Anyone who has already paid for their enrollment keeps the conditions in force at the time of payment—including the price, the billing option, the scope of the program and the refund guarantee—even if these terms change later and regardless of whether admission is decided afterwards. The Consumer Protection and Defense Code does not allow the conditions under which a consumer contracted to be changed unilaterally to their detriment.

When a change is substantial and affects people already enrolled, it is communicated by email reasonably in advance of its entry into force. If you do not accept the change, you can terminate the contract without penalty and request a pro rata refund for the part of the service not yet delivered.

For any question about a change, you can write to us at info@ainilac.com.
